Conference On Mechanical Engineering and Technology (COMET) was commenced with the aim of promoting excellence in the field of mechanical engineering and to provide a platform for bringing out the best among the department’s students. What started as a simple initiative soon spiralled into a conclave. Needless to say it has experienced exponential growth in the sheer number of participants, both internal and external alike, augmented by the quality alongside. The events in its fold have enthused engineers from colleges nationwide thus increasing its domain of influence over the years.

Attracting almost 1000 odd external participants in its previous edition, we are confident that these will be more than double positively for the upcoming edition.

COLLOQUIUM

Colloquium, the paper presentation contest, offers a platform to the participants to present & exchange their ideas, innovations and solutions to engineering problems in front of a very scholarly audience. The conference will bring together leading researchers, engineers and scientists in the domain of interest from around the world. COLLOQUIUM is the premier forum for the presentation of new advances and research results in the fields of theoretical and experimental mechanical engineering. Students (B.E/B.Tech./M.Tech./Ph.D.), researchers and qualified personnel interested in the field of mechanical engineering are invited to present papers.
We hope that conference results will lead to significant contributions to the knowledge in these up-to-date engineering and scientific fields.

Topics of interest for submission include, but are not limited to:
  • Advanced Manufacturing System.
  • Applications of Aerospace Technology.
  • Automation and Robotics.
  • Automobile engineering.
  • Biomechanics and Bioinstrumentation.
  • Concurrent Design of Vibration System.

A Multi-Dimensional Trust Model and Fuzzy Decision System for E-Commerce

IJSRD - International Journal for Scientific Research & Development | Sp. Issue - Data Mining 2015

Keywords:
Trust Model, Fuzzy Decision System, E-Commerce

Abstract:
Reputation-based trust models are widely used in E-Commerce applications, and feedback ratings are aggregated to compute sellers reputation trust scores. Based on the observation that buyers often express opinions openly in free text feedback comments, it have proposed Comm Trust, a multi-dimensional trust evaluation model, for computing comprehensive trust profiles for sellers in E-Commerce applications. Different from existing multi-dimensional trust models, here compute dimension trust scores by extracting dimension ratings from feedback comments. Based on the dependency relation parsing technique, it have proposed DR-mining approaches to mine feedback comments for dimension rating profiles. Also when a new product arrives in the E-Commerce application, it doesn’t have any feedback associated with it. Hence it also introduces fuzzy logic into rule definition for preferences of venders and designs a novel agent-based decision system using fuzzy rules and reasoning mechanisms to find the right product from a trustworthy vender according to users preferences.

I. INTRODUCTION

There has been a tremendous growth in E-Commerce applications, where buyers and sellers conduct transactions on the web. Users are attracted to online-shopping not only due to the convenience in accessing the information of items on-sold, but also because of the availability of other buyers feedback on their purchasing experience, item-related and/or seller-related. All major online-shopping websites encourage buyers to provide feedback, often in the form of ratings along with some textual comments, to facilitate potential transactions..View more

Abstract:
What have we done to our environment? Everyone should ask this question to themselves. Due to increasing demand of energy, the world is leading towards the depletion of carbon fuel. Today the need of the hour is the correct transformation of energy and reuse of energy. Fossil fuel based power generating technologies have much large amount of carbon emission leading to climate change. Today the need of century is to move towards carbon free energy and find every possible way to do so. One of the possible implementation is what we have done in our research. We at Maharaja Agrasen College, University Of Delhi, have tried to use Piezoelectricity, which is a charge that accumulates in certain solid materials (such as crystals, certain ceramics, and biological matter such as bone, DNA and various proteins) in response to applied mechanical stress, pressure and vibrations. We came up with an idea to convert pressure and mechanical stress into electricity in Metro stations. The energy people apply in walking on metro station platforms is converted into electric charge which is converted into electric voltage required to charge the battery using the piezoelectric transducer generators.

I. INTRODUCTION

Daily, about 2.70 million people travel in Delhi metro. These 2.70 million riders, you see as humans, we see them as power sources and are huge power assets. We aim to quantify the mechanical energy that is generated by humans daily but gets wasted. We will install piezoelectric transducer generators on the floor of metro stations which produce electric charge whenwe apply pressure on them. This electric charge can be used to generate an electric voltage which can be used to charge batteries. Now, let’s see how piezoelectric transducer generators actually work does.
Piezoelectricity (also called the piezoelectric effect) is the appearance of an electrical potential (a voltage, in other words) across the sides of a crystal when you subject it to mechanical stress (by squeezing it). In practice, the crystal becomes a kind of tiny battery with a positive charge on one face and a negative charge on the opposite face; current flows if we Piezoelectric effect is the generation of electric charge when mechanical strain is applied on piezoelectric materials.
A. Piezoelectric Generator:
Piezoelectric effect is employed in manufacturing sensors. The piezoelectric materials are both natural and artificially made.
Quartz is a natural piezoelectric material while Lead ZirconateTitanate (PZT) is an artificial piezoelectric material.

What is Data Mining..?

Data mining (the analysis step of the "Knowledge Discovery in Databases" process. The overall goal of the data mining process is to extract information from a data set and transform it into an understandable structure for further use.
The actual data mining task is the automatic or semi-automatic analysis of large quantities of data to extract previously unknown, interesting patterns such as groups of data records, unusual records and dependencies. The Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD) process is commonly defined with the stages:
(1) Selection
(2) Pre-processing
(3) Transformation
(4) Data Mining
(5) Interpretation/Evaluation.
